Dear Heavenly Father,
LORD, please us endure, and please help our loved ones endure, also.
In a world desiring instantaneous results, we often feel as though success achieved through persistence isn’t success at all. However, you have made it abundantly clear that our faith should produce perseverance. We need to run the race – not the short sprint – You have set before us.
LORD, help us strip off any weight that slows us down in the pursuit of Godliness.
LORD, like the marathon runner, help us to train ourselves so that we make it to the finish line. Let us keep our eyes on You, for you await us there. Keep us from distractions that take us off course, and give us the strength to lean in during the uphill treks. Remind us to encourage others when we run downhill and our path becomes easier.
LORD, thank You for bringing us into the race. Of that, we are eternally grateful.
LORD, we don’t run uselessly. Our finish line is more glorious than we could ever imagine. On the tough parts of the journey, help us to remember that.
Thank You, LORD.
In Christ’s all-powerful name we pray,
