The Abundant Life: One Key Step

Opening Door

One crucial action can be the difference between your success and failure.

If you fail to do this one simple thing, you may wander without direction as you seek to use your God-given talent.  You may walk in circles as you attempt to fulfill your life goals.  This could last for years – perhaps even your entire life.

It’s so simple that it’s tragic when someone fails to do it.

The key to success is asking God for help.

You’ve identified it’s time to start living the abundant life.  You know what God wants you to do.  Now, the key is execution.  But how can you do that without His help?

Every single step you take towards achieving your life goal will need to begin on your knees (Proverbs 3:5-6).

I highly doubt God would give someone a mission, and then expect him/her to achieve it by themselves.  It would be much more effective if He were there every step of the way, guiding, providing, and opening doors.

I’ll give you an example.  I’m writing a book, and it needs a cover.  I experienced a lot of trouble finding a designer who met my needs.  I sought a very specific design, yet one roadblock or another stopped me from achieving it.  It was frustrating.

The next morning, I asked God for help.  I explained everything and then asked Him to show me the way or open doors.  I needed His guidance then, as I do every day.

That day I received an email from a mentor who told me about a book she just read, and she gave me the link to download it.  I did, and the book contained valuable information – including cover design software.

I downloaded the software and walla!  There was the cover I had been searching for all along!  Simple, stunning, and quick.

Had I not asked for God’s help, I’d still be looking.  I’d likely end up with a gross design I paid way too much for.

God has all the resources you ever need to achieve your goals.  Asking Him for help for everything will break you out of every obstacle.

You won’t do much without Him.

If He wants you to do it, He’ll give you what you need to accomplish it (Isaiah 41:13).  The key is asking Him for help (Mathew 7:7).

Are you seeking to fulfill a God-given goal, yet are facing a roadblock you’ve no idea how to overcome?  May I suggest beginning on your knees?

I don’t guarantee many things, but I absolutely, resolutely guarantee His loving, guiding hand will maneuver you to success (Nehemiah 1:11; Proverbs 16:3).

Continue with us as we address how to overcome fears while accomplishing our God-given goals.
