You can start living today.
No matter how old you are, you can recapture your childhood dreams.
Remember when you were a kid, and you used to spend hours doing something you loved? You were passionate about it, and you even dreamed you would do it when you were an adult.
Maybe you created beautiful paintings. Perhaps you composed music. Or, you out-danced everyone in the neighborhood. Perhaps, like me, you spent hours writing stories and reading.
Then adulthood came, and you stopped. What happened?
Bills, responsibilities, and others’ dreams for your life happened – that’s what.
Pretty soon, if you’re like many, you’re stuck in a rut, being really busy at something you don’t even want to do.
Isn’t it time to recapture your childlike zeal?
God created you with passions, talents, and dreams. He deposited a fire for something deep inside you – and He made you good at it.
This something – whatever it is – is your Godly contribution to the world. It’s what you were created to do.
A year after I was saved, I developed an insatiable desire to learn Bible prophecy. I’d stay up all night reading about Mid-East political skirmishes and Israeli history. I’d claw my way through prophecy updates until my eyes were red and popping out of my head.
Prophecy ruined me for everything else.
I was no longer content to simply clock in and out of life. A mediocre, under-the-radar, living for a paycheck life was intolerable. In fact, if I couldn’t be used mightily by God, I (politely) asked Him to grant me early access to Heaven.
I now know this desire for prophecy was placed in me by God Himself.
You see, if you delight in God, He gives you Godly passions (Psalm 37:4; Proverbs 10:24). He deposits a new Spirit in you – one that isn’t content with the status quo (Ezekiel 36:26; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
Can you imagine – as a parent – telling your financially-gifted, stick-figure-drawing child to spend his/her life painting murals?
Absolutely not! Neither would your Heavenly Father.
Do you want to reignite the passion you once had for life? Do you know what you want to accomplish before your transition to eternity?
Take some time to think about it. Spend a day reminiscing. It will come to you.
Once you’ve identified your calling, it’s time to make it profitable so that you can continue to pursue it, and so that you can be financially generous to those in need. Join us as we continue the discussion of the abundant life.
