Did you know Jesus said there would be a generation that would witness End Times events?
Did you also know He said all events in the Book of Revelation – up to and including His Second Coming – would be fulfilled in this generation? (Matthew 24:34-35)
Do you know which generation He was referring to?
Many believe He was referring to ours.
More specifically, He was referring to the generation of people born in 1948.
On May 14, 1948, Israel was reborn in one day.
According to many scholars, this was the sign that started the clock running on End Times. And according to God, this generation would not pass away until the End Times sequences were fulfilled. (Matthew 24:34-35)
Why is Israel’s rebirth the sign that starts the final countdown clock?
- God said in “later days,” Israel would return to God and obey Him. (Deuteronomy 4:30)
Before 1948, Jews were scattered throughout the world.
However, 1948 marked the beginning of the return of Jews to their homeland; thus fulfilling the prophecy above. (Deuteronomy 4:30)
- God says that He will re-gather Israel a “second time” and that they will never again be uprooted from the land. (Isaiah 11:11; Amos 9:14-15)
The first re-gathering was in 500BC when a remnant of Jewish people returned to a ransacked Jerusalem and rebuilt the Temple. After that, Israel was a nation again – until it was destroyed in 70AD.
After that, it was desolate – until 1948, the second re-gathering.
God says that after the second re-gathering, the Israelis will never be uprooted again.
So, let’s suppose scholars are correct and the End Times clock began its countdown in 1948. Jesus said this generation wouldn’t die until all End Times events – up to and including the Second Coming – were fulfilled.
The Bible says a typical lifespan is between 70 – 80 years.
Remember, the Rapture occurs at least seven years prior to the Second Coming.
That’s pretty close.
If scholars are correct and 1948 is the beginning of the final countdown, then I’m going to start looking up right about now.
I hope you do, too.
Until then, be blessed!
